Hallowe’en Adventures

I’ve just spent a wonderful weekend with friends in this fiendish pile in deepest Derbyshire. It even had a wonderfully spooky grotto which is located at the bottom right of this photo, the entrance hidden by ivy. Although we didn’t encounter the ‘severed hand’ ,which was rumoured to hand the place, I did read ‘A Head Full of Ghosts’ by Paul Tremblay. I can only really describe it as a post-modern update of ‘The Exorcist’ but none-the-worse for it and a gripping read.
